He appears more suited as a bureaucrat than a leader and appears to be a schemer. Is anyone doing well except his pals since he took over?
Our leader. A scheming manipulator. There is one thing he is good at doing. He practices the adage, “‘Tis better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as an idiot, than to open it your mouth and remove all doubt.” Little Johnnie is a very quiet fellow. He schemes and lets his pals do his dirty work. Those who work close to him know he is weak.
When I heard John and one of his pals say that "field engineers are a dime a dozen," I knew, after priding ourselves on our group of fine field engineers, we had a putz of a different color on our hands. No less a putz, just a different kind of putz.
His little Italian two tone tassel slippers are cute. Anyone else notice how much he is trying to drag that little wisp of fuzzy hair across the top of his dome? He is looking a lot older since he arrived here.
A real scumbag.
And working as a field engineer, a salesman, managing Markey's school, and a couple of other jobs qualified this clown to run our company how? A loser who is turning our company into a loser. How much longer? Oh well, I will continue to show up and do nothing but make a show of doing something when this prick is around.
I have known John for about 20-years. He has two faces. One is charming and cordial. That face is the one he uses when he needs something from you. The other face is that of a low-life, crooked bastard. That face is the one he uses when he realizes he can extract no more from you either because you have caught on to his game, or because you have no more to give him. Beware of this guy, he is a bad one.
So he hires Leo to build a gas turbine business, not much business is done for over two years and Leo is now tasked to sell HP turbine upgrades and moved to NY. Now there is a really big business opportunity for which we will get little or no credit. He hires Dave and makes him the manager of nuclear and industrial, no business is forthcoming from Dave’s efforts, but that is good enough to promote him to Larry’s job. And now we have no particular effort being spent on gas turbines, nuclear, or industrial. He hires Janet as a salesman, she sells nothing and is promoted to Paul’s job. Whoa, do we think we know what is going on here? Isn’t Johnnie is a clever little fellow.
One by one, as the GE people came over to our company they talked about the madness, first of email where managers had to come to work early just to wade through the email piles, mostly consisting of useless CYA copies. Then as time went by and Six Sigma began to raise its ugly head, they talked about the utterly confusing and often dumb software that defied efficient use of time.
When John came aboard, according to Bob and Jim, he had promised not to revert to Six Sigma management. And what do we have now? Six Sigma, the darling of the 1980's and 1990's, which is largely discredited by businesses everywhere, including GE. I wonder if John is simply a one trick pony?
We had a great time at our January leadership meeting in Florida. A nod at some business meetings and the rest of the days playing golf, riding jet skis, or laying out on the beach. Weather was beautiful and warm. It was 10° back in New York. I wonder if the peons we left to work in the office had any thoughts about our little winter vacation. Who cares, we run the place now. To hell with them, we are the big shots now.
Deliver us. Won\'t someone deliver us? Please deliver us.
